Everything about Sarah and CJ’s wedding took place at their home, which they’ve spent the last year fixing up and putting their own personal touches on. They created the perfect location for their special day! Sarah got ready with her gals on the second floor of their home, while CJ prepped on the main floor. Even getting ready in the same house, we managed to keep them hidden from each other until their first look! It was great.
We’d all been watching the forecast the days prior to the wedding, and it was predicting rain. LOTS of it. And because, well, you can’t reschedule a wedding, we had to embrace it! Luckily the event tent was set up next to their gorgeous row of sunflowers (that they planted especially for their wedding day!), which helped their portraits LOOK like they were completely outside, when in reality, we were covered and dry 🙂
Can we talk about how CJ made that gorgeous ceremony arch?!! Seriously stunning.
Of course, the REAL rain came juuuuuusttttt as the ceremony was starting. The short walk from the house to the tent proved VERY damp for all involved. Luckily, everyone couldn’t help but laugh! It’s all part of the story of Sarah and CJ’s big day.
The sunflowers that were added to all aspects of S+C’s wedding day made me SO HAPPY. It made a rainy day that much brighter. I loved all the thought that went into the hand painted signs by a friend of the bride!
The Blazing Hearth pizza truck provided the catering for this event, and their team was incredible as they set everything up in the pouring rain. It seems they’ve experienced a downpour or two while making delicious pizza!
The ground was soaked, but that didn’t stop people from lawn games under the game tent. This was a pretty epic game of giant jenga!
The only traditional formalities of Sarah and CJ’s reception were a few toasts and the cutting of their gorgeous sunflower cake. The rest of the time was spent chatting, playing games and eating the huge variety of pizza Blazing Hearth provided. I love when couples design a wedding day that is perfect for their style!
Sarah and CJ, congrats again, friends! I hope you know yours is a wedding I’ll remember for a long time! <3
