Michal-Rose + Larry // Married! | Virginia Farm Wedding Photography

There’s somethin’ bout the South…

Larry and Michal-Rose were married last Sunday at a gorgeous location in rural Virginia. Wade’s Millย is still a working flour mill, owned by the parents’ of the bride’s friend. It was a quaint little spot, perfect for an intimate wedding. I love shooting outdoors, rustic details, sunsets, and small-ish weddings, so I was in photographer’s heaven that day!

Read on for the full love story…

The thing about Larry and Michal is… they have been married to each other previously! In the early 80s, they met in the Congo (!), while Larry was on a Habitat for Humanity project, and Michal’s mom and dad were missionaries. Fate, right? They were soon married and life was great. But then… life took a different path. And they separated. And 20 years went by…

And about a year ago, life re-introduced them to each other! And they fell in love ALL OVER AGAIN! So naturally, they were married ALL OVER AGAIN! But this time, as different people, better people. Better people, TOGETHER. And because Michal adopted a gorgeous little girl, they are now also parents together. And the cutest little family they are!

Cue the “such a cute family!” comments right about now. ๐Ÿ™‚

Favorite everrrrrr.

The casual reception was complete with a homemade dinner, classical guitar, a bubble machine for the kids, and wine provided by Rockbridge Vineyard, just three miles down the road!

Oh, and by far the yummiest cake I’ve ever tasted, made by hole-in-the-wallย Giancarlo’s European Pastries. A hidden GEM, I tell you.

Oh yeah, I forgot to mention, my dad was the best man. =) Hi, Dad!

Bubbles and a color station kept the many kiddos happy all day!

The whole gang! I love when all your wedding guests can fit into one picture. ๐Ÿ™‚

L+M, thanks for having me! You had a gorgeous day. P.S. I would have come, pictures or not! =) Love, Stephanie

Great pictures!

That’s such a cool story! Steph, you are seriously talented. I remember sitting in Duke’s horrifying class together and trying to figure out what we REALLY wanted to do. You have accomplished a lot since then! Beautiful work ๐Ÿ™‚

Aw Hayley, thanks so much! That’s very encouraging! ๐Ÿ™‚
