A Little Maine Getaway

Nate & I took a short-but-worth-it getaway to Kennebunkport, Maine the weekend after Christmas. It was a chance to relax a bit before his company’s busy season gets into full swing. We stayed at a small B&B called the Maine Stay, and spent most of our days either shopping at the cute boutiques or curled up in our little room reading and eating bread. Honestly! We both just really love bread šŸ™‚ Here are some snaps from our adventure.

The inn still had some great Christmas decorations up for us to enjoy.

It snowed pretty much the whole trip and we loved it!

See? Bread! From the When Pigs Fly bakery in Freeport.

One of my favorite memories was our walk around the little town one night. Imagine being the only people in the streets, with the falling snow making everything so quiet and peaceful.

We ate out at some great restaurants;Ā Federal Jack’s and Allison’s come to mind as my faves. And the Candy Man, where we got Maine’s biggest peanut butter cup (Nate made me share it with him :[ I totally could have eaten the whole thing haha!)

Has anyone ever been to Kennebunkport and have a recommendation about where we should visit, shop, eat if we ever go back? Share if you want, thanks!

Sarah, that sounds so fun! Maybe we’ll have to take a summer trip up there too. Thanks for the suggestion! -s

I’ve been to Maine many times, but only Kennebunkport once. We stopped at the Seashore Trolley Museum and rode a trolley.. very fun and there were some awesome vintage trolleys & buses to take pictures of!
