Last week I celebrated ten years of being a photographer. September 11th, 2011, I photographed my very first solo wedding (I had second-shot just once before that). It was the wedding of someone who saw my artistic eye and my deep dream of creating for a living. Here are two photos I was (and still am) incredibly proud of from that wedding.
Here are some photos from a lovely summer wedding a few weeks ago.
As you can see, a lot has changed. Look at all the fun logos I’ve had through the years! And remember way back in the beginning when SRP was TWAY? Who has been around here for that long?
My style has changed, my workflow has changed, my pricing has changed, and more importantly, my confidence has changed. Recently I said out loud to myself “You are very good at what you do.” and I was surprised at myself? Because I don’t tell myself things like that, like, ever. I just do what I need to do. So I’m going to take a minute to expand on that thought for a moment. YES GIRL. You are GOOD at this! You know how to open people up, you know how to make people feel good about themselves, and you get better with every single session and wedding. Ten years ago Stephanie, please keep going. Please don’t give up. It’s hard. I remember. It’s still hard, but you have confidence and you know your worth and your talent. Claim it.
10 years down, many more to go <3
