The day before Alyssa and Jide’s October wedding, they celebrated their marriage with a Nigerian engagement ceremony! Jide’s family hosted this colorful, joyful event. It was centered around family and music and Nigerian traditions: Like giving the engaged couple a variety of fruit that symbolize different aspects of their relationship. And also throwing dollar bills at them 😉 .
I can’t even describe how fun it was to photograph this event. From A+J and their bridal parties dancing into the room and down the aisle, to the whole room singing along with the drums after each part of the ceremony, it was just so full of life and color and joy (I know I already used that word, but that’s really the exact word to describe it!)
