I wanted to get one last styled shoot in this year before Baby K arrives, and had an idea to make it elopement themed! Part of the reasoning behind this shoot was to make some content to share that I am now available to photograph elopements all around New England and especially in Boston! With a baby on the way, I need to find ways to adapt my business to being a new mom and I think photographing elopements are part of that answer!
Emily and Scott were awesome in front of the camera and their totally-in-love vibes made it so easy to make these photos. We shot in the most perfect location for this casual, outdoorsy elopement shoot idea – near the Charles River at Elm Bank in Wellesley. Thanks to Makeup by Tracy and Sarah’s Floral Design for your lovely work on this project!!
Elopements are a great way to celebrate your love as you get married in an intimate setting. The savings don’t hurt either 😉 There are endless ways to elope! You can elope to the courthouse or pick a gorgeous outdoor location that is special to you. And “elope” doesn’t mean you can’t have your friends or family there with you. It just means you are forgoing the traditional wedding for something more your own style! Think a short ceremony by the water, followed by a delicious lobster dinner celebration with your best friends! Or a hike with your dog up your favorite mountain to be married in front of your favorite view! Or a private courthouse ceremony, with a massive family beach party a few weeks later. It’s all up to you!
Having a photographer at your elopement is something you might not initially think to include. Even though an elopement is typically a more casual event than a traditional wedding, I still believe photography has it’s place at your intimate ceremony, or shortly thereafter. There is nothing like that fresh and exciting “WE’RE MARRIED” energy, something that should definitely be captured! It’s that type of love and energy that draws me to photography and I can’t wait to photograph more elopements in the coming years!
