Stephanie Rita Photography Office REVEAL! | Natick, MA

June 7, 2018

I’m so excited to share these ‘after’ photos of my new office! I know, I know, these pictures have been a LONG time coming. Karen, from Copper Dot Interiors, and I moved into our new office officially in mid-January. Early on, we painted it a lovely, clean white (remember the beige?) and made a pinterest inspiration board to figure out a style we both liked. Then we slowly started to add real furniture into the space (but before we did, a plastic folding table and chairs was our desk. #makeitwork).

I’m not good at interior design-y words, but I’d say the style is fairly modern overall, with a hint of vintage/mid-century. The two largest pieces especially (credenza and table) flaunt that mid-century vibe. I inherited the credenza from my Grandpa and that was the first piece in the room and our inspiration for a lot of the design. A few weeks later Karen scored the perfect dining room table that we are using as our desk. It went so well with the credenza, we really couldn’t believe it!
Slowly over the months we’ve both found little pieces of decor and art to make the space more homey. We went for professional, but creative, since that’s what we both are! Personal DIYS to add to that creativity aspect. Karen made the macrame hanging piece, and I painted the painting above the credenza.

The most fun thing to add into the space was the rug! It’s SO GORGEOUS! I work with the office door open pretty often, and I can say that at least once a week someone comments on how awesome our rug is. That was all Karen. She found it for a wicked steal on Amazon and we had to go for it.

The newest addition to the office is the gold coffee cart. Cute and functional!

In the last 6 months, besides all the time I spend there doing day to day work, I’ve been able to host 4 client meetings, 3 photo shoots, and 2 networking lunches in the office. Which is EXACTLY what I had hoped to use the space for. Karen and I also have plans to host a creative-based workshop sometime in the near future!

Can’t forget about our cute plant friends.

By the way, I said ‘we’ fairly often in this post when talking about design, but honestly Karen was the mastermind behind the overall look of our office. I would have been settled at a credenza, a rug and a table, but she took things to the next level and really made it look welcoming and fun and professional. Go check out her blog to learn way more about the design process and technical stuff. 🙂
