Welcome to my 17th weekly roundup of personal photos! This week I took photos pretty equally between my usual Nikon D710 and my NEW point and shoot, the Canon Powershot G9X, which has surprised me quite a bit. I bought it for the video capabilities and stayed for the picture quality. It’s been really fun to play around with and it’s soooo portable which makes it an ideal purse camera. Anyways, you aren’t here for a review, so here are my photo memories from the past week!

March 30 – April 6, 2017
– We celebrated both of Nate’s parents’ 60th birthdays. The ‘kids’ took care of all aspects of the dinner and what we each contributed made a pretty great meal. Plus I remembered to take pics!
– This weekend Nate had much more free time than on a typical mid-busy-season weekend, so we took advantage. We visited his friend Jeff who is leaving for basic training soon, so they could say their “see ya laters’. After that we went to a secret speakeasy in Hudson. I’d tell you how to get there, but it’s a secret. 😉
– I was in a painting mood. Usually am, but most times I don’t actually act on it. This week I painted two things that I am pretty happy with and will put the finishing touches this week. As you can tell, I was channeling spring, despite it cold-raining most of this week.
– I did a portrait session with my friend Ashleigh of Massage Loft New England (which I’ll share more of soon!) and we did her headshots near the ocean! It was so cold and windy, but equally as gorgeous. I couldn’t get over how perfect the color palette was.

EXPAND

My siblings and I gave my parents a PowerShot as a gift last year (and by that I mean: I had the idea, ordered the camera, and only one of the three of them had paid me back since we gifted it in October, but I gave everyone the credit). They’d had a mediocre Sony or something for the past five years and it’s been such a bummer to see the mediocre quality photos they’d get from it! The PowerShot seriously does a great job of helping them get great photos even when conditions are poor! Even low light, which is one of the main things I knew they needed help with. I only wish I’d bought it sooner!
