Time for my weekly WKLY! A blog post of personal photos from the past week.

Last Saturday my sister was supposed to be flying back to Africa, where she works in the Peace Corps. Nate and I met my family downtown and had a nice lunch at Quincy Market before we all hopped on the T to the airport to see her off.
Everything was going great… until Meg tried to check in and they wouldn’t let her. They said she was missing one piece of paperwork that the PC higher-ups hadn’t given to her before she left. So basically, she was stuck in America.

She spent an hour calling and emailing, but since it was a weekend, no one in Africa was answering. After going over many options, the one that made the most sense was to wait until Monday and try calling again. She was kind of upset – she had perfectly packed and was mentally prepared to leave the US and go back to work, plus, she was excited to see her friends.

If you’re wondering how the story ends, luckily everything worked out and she got a flight back on Tuesday. The silver lining of all this frustrating-ness was that Meg ended up crashing on our couch for three nights and we got to spend even more QT together before not seeing each other for 10 months. She visited our church and met our friends, I took her to my favorite lunch spot in town, and… we got sister tattoos! 🙂 She also had the chance to soak in three more days of really great 10 degree New England weather 😉
See ya next WKLY. -S
