Welcome back to WKLY! My personal photo project – because taking photos helps me remember my life better 😉 Here are a few images from the week between Christmas & New Year’s and the first days of 2017.

Nate spent most of his vacation working on a stubborn puzzle of a Scottish castle. We actually saw this castle when we visited in 2013, but Nate has confirmed that seeing it in real life is better than trying to put together a 750 piece puzzle of it. He did finish it though! P.S. This photo was not posed. He was genuinely stumped haha.
I barely took any pictures on New Year’s Eve – I was having too much fun hanging out at our friends’ house. We ate a dinner of chips and buffalo chicken dip, crackers and brie, and topped it off with brownie sundaes 😉 We also played some games: The Oregon Trail card game (we died before making it to Oregon) and a quick one with colorful dice that I forget the name of. Then we spent the rest of the night alternating between watching football and the NYE countdown. And eating more ice cream. Cozy and low key, just the way we like it.

Nate and I FINALLY met my sister Megan’s boyfriend Paolo for the first time earlier this week. We walked around the Harvard campus and then ate a great Indian dinner together. It was pretty fun. And pretty cold.

The next day I went back downtown to meet up with them again before Paolo flew back to London (oh yeah, did I mention my sister is dating a Brit? 😉 ). First we went to Trident, which may have been a mistake because once you take my sister into a bookstore, it’s hard to get her out. I HAD to show them the Mapparium, which I knew they’d both love seeing as they’re both world travelers in their own right. Have you ever seen the Mapparium? I feel like it’s one of Boston’s best kept tourist secrets (thanks to my friend Amy for cluing me in!). It’s this. (Google image linking you because taking photos inside isn’t allowed! 🙁 )
So yeah. It was a pretty good start to 2017. Here’s to keeping up the trend!
