Introducing: Joie Magazine

A little backstory: The idea for an online magazine has been on my mind and heart for a long time. I was never too sure of what this hypothetical magazine would be focused around… maybe something photography related, or graphic design-y. I just knew it would be fun to design, write and create something to share with people of similar interests. But the fears of  “why would anyone care?” and “who would even read that!” always came up, so I pushed the online-mag-dreams to the back-burner and told myself “someday, later”.

Or maybe because I was a year and a half into my own marriage and had a few tidbits I could share with others just entering theirs. Or that a close friend had moved back to New England and our brainstorming personalities got together. But I really think it was a little bit of everything that contributed to the final push of making this little dream actually happen.

What if we started an online magazine that talked about the real meaning of marriage. Things like faith, hardships, promises and God’s real love. Focusing on marriage as opposed to just weddings. I think we can all agree that having some sort of resource as a newly-engaged Christian woman would be nice.”

The initial email I sent to two of my close friends, back in October. They had never even met each other, but both were brave enough to start on this crazy journey with me! And with months of their help, encouragement and brain power, together we have created this magazine! Joie Magazine, to be specific. A magazine for Christian women looking for inspiration for not only their weddings, but also for the new adventure that comes after it. Because, yes, we do believe in lovely celebrations, but we even more strongly believe in true love and lasting marriages.

While our first issue doesn’t drop until early June, our blog has been busy with DIYs, favorite Bible verses and guest posts from inspiring women. We’d love for you to join our little community over there! We regularly check and respond to comments and emails, so don’t be afraid to get in touch if there is a topic you’ve been wanting to hear about (or CONTRIBUTE! We LOVE contributors!!)

I am so (SOOOO!) excited to see what direction God takes this project in. Thanks to those of you who have supported us and encouraged us over the last few weeks that we’ve been sneaking hints. And thanks to the friends who are already following the Joie Facebook page and Instagram account!

Thanks again, friends 🙂
