Explore Scotland 2013 // Views

Welcome to the second installation in our Explore Scotland adventure! Obviously Scotland is known for it’s gorgeous landscapes/views/nature, so that’s what this post is all about. Enjoy and hopefully you will feel like you’ve been there, too.

This was a little beach that had a special spot to see dolphins swim by… and we actually saw some! The weather was so weird: for 5 minutes it would be sunny, then it would start to drizzle, then get really windy, then be sunny again! It couldn’t make up it’s mind. Like in this next photo, you can literally see how half the sky is rainy, and half is getting sunny again.

Sometimes the views were so cool that we stopped off on the side of the road to snap a few pictures. At this stop it was 30 degrees and super windy and rainy, so we were only outside for mayyyyybe 3 minutes.

We spent one day doing a few hikes, and this particular hike was intennnnse. Mostly because, again, it was rainy and really windy and I felt like we were all going to get blown off the mountain! But the views (!) were totally worth it. As you can see..

This was another “we HAVE to stop and take pictures” moment. Finally some blue skies! And a whole bunch of piles of rocks. Like, thousands, probably. It was very interesting…

This mini-hike got us a better view of the train aqueduct that the Hogwarts Express traveled on in the first two Harry Potter movies! It was a little bit of a nerd moment for all of us, but don’t lie, you would have been excited, too. Sidenote: This trip had so many Harry Potter moments that on the plane home I watched the first part of the Deathly Hallows. I NEEDED to! =)

So there you have just a few of the pretty views we saw! Next up: Scottish towns!

I love this! Beautiful countryside. I also love Nate’s windblown hair.
