A Season of Firsts | Personal

Ignore the wind-blown us, but LOOK! It’s our first Christmas tree!

I’m so excited for this upcoming season full of “firsts”. Along with our first Christmas being married comes a first Christmas tree, first time decorating a house together, (maybe a) first batch of cookies that might actually taste good, first time spending Christmas with two families, first year of our own traditions…. you get the picture.

Speaking of traditions… We need some! We’re thinking maybe we’ll make pancakes on Christmas morning, but other than that, we have nothing. What are your traditions? Please share! If you share, I’ll send you a Christmas card! Deal? =)

[…] you for sharing your traditions with me last week! Anything else Christmas-related you want to talk about? You know I’m all about it […]

We always have German Christmas bread (“schtulen” I think is the spelling?) for breakfast, open gifts oldest to youngest and watch It’s a wonderful life 🙂 we also use placemats made out of previous year’s Christmas cards

That got everyone talking! Last year, Devon and I started celebrating Nikolaustag, on Dec 5-6. We just filled each other’s boots “secretly” with all kinds of small gifts and treats. It was so fun to give our gifts early and it let us reserve Christmas day as just special time together.

OMG we listen to Frank Sinatras Christmas album every year. while drinking tea and opening gifts…

I love Frank & tea & gifts, so, this is a winner =)

Our family takes a drive on Christmas Eve around Keene (but any town would work) to look at all the christmas lights on the houses. Then we come home and each get to open one present. So much fun!

We always do the Christmas light drive when we visit my grandparents! I agree, it’s fun =)

We always make pancakes that look like snowmen and then use ice cream as the “snow”. 😉 You two are adorable.

That is so exciting!! One of the traditions I love and hope to take when Aaron and I get married is saving our stockings for last! We always wait and open our stockings right before we go to bed on Christmas night. It is nice to have one last little treat to end an already great day!

My family (honestly) always forgot about our stockings ’til like 3 days later haha =) so I agree with that “last treat” part!
